In response to a demonstration of beekeepers, the ministry of agriculture stated it was promoting a reform which enables the entry of new beekeepers into the honey industry thus improving it and increasing competition for the benfit of the farmers and the public. “It is only natural that the veteran beekeepers and the Israeli Honey Board lobbyists will try to block the reform but their protest will not deter the office’s management from promoting it”.
The article about the demonstration and the ministry’s office was first published in NRG. A longer more informative article about the reform in the honey industry was published on Friday in the same newspaper.
